What a start to the year it’s been.
The first quarter has been packed in the best way, with plenty of opportunities to get out and about, be part of important conversations, catch up with brilliant people and get stuck into the kind of work that reminds us why we do what we do.
From championing digital inclusion in Sunderland to marking B Corp Month, delivering training and sharing practical digital advice, Q1 has been a real mix of good work, good people and good momentum. Here’s a look back at some of the things that have shaped the start of our year.
In the room for Sunderland’s inclusive digital future
One of the standout moments from Q1 was being invited to Sunderland City Council’s digital inclusion roundtable.
The session brought together people committed to improving access to digital services and products, and we were really pleased to be part of that conversation.
Alongside our partner Recite Me, we shared insight from our work on improving accessibility and creating inclusive digital experiences that work for everyone.
For us, this matters in Sunderland because this is our city. Digital inclusion here is not just a wider policy conversation. It has a real impact on local people, local communities and the way they access everyday services. Being in the room for that discussion felt important, and it was great to be part of a conversation focused on making digital work better for everyone.

Marking B Corp Month
Q1 also gave us the chance to mark B Corp Month.
Being part of the B Lab UK community continues to shape how we think and how we work as a business. It is an ongoing reminder to do good work in the right way, to think carefully about our impact and to keep looking for ways to do better.
What if digital felt easier?
A big part of what we do is helping make digital feel clearer, more practical and much easier to get to grips with.
Over the first quarter, our training sessions continued to be a really important part of that. Whether we are working with an in-house team or leading a workshop with a room full of people in different roles, the goal stays the same. We break things down clearly, explain what matters and help people feel more confident putting digital into practice.
From Google Analytics and Google Ads to content, SEO and strategy, we always try to make digital feel less overwhelming and much more manageable. It is something we care about a lot, because when people understand what they are looking at and why it matters, they are in a much better position to make confident decisions.
Keeping digital clear
That same thinking runs through the advice we share too.
Throughout Q1, we continued creating useful content around the kind of digital topics people often need help making sense of. That includes practical advice on things like what to ask your web developer, tips for improving site speed and simple ways to keep your website up to date.
We know digital can sometimes feel overcomplicated for no real reason, so we always try to explain things clearly and keep them practical. For us, useful advice should actually feel useful.
Q1 has not been all work and no play
Alongside all the busy projects, events and conversations, Q1 also gave us a lovely reason to celebrate as a team.
Our Technical Director Matthew recently got married, and we could not be happier for the new Mr and Mrs Bryson. It was lovely to be part of such a special moment and to celebrate something so joyful together.
It is always nice, in the middle of a busy quarter, to have those moments that bring everyone together for a different reason.

Looking ahead
If Q1 is anything to go by, it is shaping up to be a full and exciting year.
We are really grateful to be part of such a brilliant community here in Sunderland and across the North East, and we are looking forward to everything still to come. 😊
